REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE FROM KENTON PRIMARY SCHOOL

Background information:-

The school is located in Kariega Road, Kenton On Sea and accommodates 162 learners from various race groups and varying income groups. It is therefore representative of the entire community.

The Need:-

There is an immediate need for the creation of a media center with a modern and well-equipped centre of excellence with state of the art computers and a presentation board. At present the school uses old and outdated computers which were donated byKingswood College in Grahamstown in about 2005 and were already outdated then.

The Solution:

Sixteen personal computers with LCD screens, connected to a central server (or hub) as well as educational software programmes would be required to service the school’s need. In addition three printers would be needed to service the computers as well as a phone/fax machine without thermal paper.

The existing ageing computers will be donated to other needy schools in the area.

The Cost:

R100,000.00 or (US) $12500 would be sufficient to cover this cost.

Kenton Primary School headmistress is Ms. Erica B Freeme
